An up-river resident will return to court during the holidays late this year for sentencing after admitting this week that he got behind the wheel of a car with booze in his system.

Thomas Reid Kennedy, 48, of Hickey Road in Bull Lake, about 20 kilometres east of Woodstock, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday along with defence lawyer Peter Hyslop to answer to an outstanding criminal charge.

He pleaded guilty to a count of having an elevated blood-alcohol level within two hours of driving.
