Brockway driver killed in crash - RCMP
Police report that two-vehicle collision Saturday claimed life of 82-year-old woman
A two-vehicle crash in southwest New Brunswick on Saturday killed one of the drivers involved in the collision, the RCMP reports.
The McAdam detachment of the RCMP issued a news release Sunday afternoon about an accident that occurred the day before near Brockway, N.B., about 70 kilometres southwest of Fredericton.
“On Jan. 3, 2026, at approximately 12:35 p.m., members of the McAdam RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Route 3 near Brockway,” it said.
“The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of a transport truck travelling north crossed the centre line and collided with a car, which was travelling south.”
The driver of the car, an 82-year-old woman from Brockway, and her passenger both sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital, the release said, noting the 82-year-old woman later died from her injuries.
The transport driver, who was the sole occupant of the larger vehicle, was also taken to hospital for treatment for what were believed to be minor injuries, it said.
Also attending the scene were personnel with the Harvey Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick, the release said, and an RCMP traffic reconstructionist was on hand as well to aid with the investigation, which is ongoing.
