Bilijk man admits to shotgun offence
Seth Peterson Solomon, 25, is scheduled for sentencing on firearm crime in November
A Bilijk (Kingsclear) First Nation man brought to court in custody Tuesday for trial on allegations involving a sawed-off shotgun more than a year ago opted to admit to a couple of the counts.
Seth Peterson Solomon, 25, of French Village Road, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday, in custody, on weapons-related charges dating from May 7, 2024.
He’d previously pleaded not guilty to pointing a firearm at Tanner Martin, possessing a sawed-off shotgun for the purpose of committing an offence, possessing the shotgun without a licence, occupying a motor vehicle knowing the firearm was in there, storing the shotgun carelessly and breaching a probation order.
However, defence lawyer Tim Murphy said that rather than proceeding to trial, his client was seeking to change his pleas to two of the charges.
