There was confusion in court Tuesday over whether a Beaver Dam man was properly served with an appearance notice to answer to allegations of involvement in the capital drug trade this summer.
Shawn Patrick Simmonds, 50, formerly of Smythe Street in Fredericton but more recently of Kenneth Street in Beaver Dam, was listed on the Fredericton provincial court docket Tuesday.
He was scheduled to answer to indictable charges of possessing fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking July 3; and possessing cocaine and methamphetamine for trafficking purposes, possessing proceeds of crime ($484 in Canadian currency and $80 US), and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by a drug, all on July 23.
