All-in on a poker dream
Online qualifying tournament for $20 nets Fredericton resident Sharath Maddur his $10,000 US entry into World Series of Poker main event in Las Vegas - and a $15,000 US cash win
Fredericton resident Sharath Maddur may not have won it all, but he did win thousands in cash and a dream come true at the world’s best-known poker tournament.
Maddur played this past week in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event in Las Vegas, managing to remain in the running in the Texas Hold’em poker tournament for several days, and long enough that he made it to the prize money.

He started playing on July 4 and remained in the game until he busted July 9, finishing in 1,367th place in a field of 9,735.
Maddur won $15,000 US for his run in a tournament with a $10,000 US buy-in.
But his profit margin was much better than five grand.
