Accused denies law-firm break-in

Kyle Kennett, 40, of Fredericton, to stand trial next year on variety of alleged petty crimes

A Fredericton man was given a trial date in a year’s time this week after pleading not guilty to several charges, including an alleged break-in at a downtown law office.

Kyle Kennett, 40, of Brunswick Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Monday to answer to numerous charges.

Defence counsel Alex Pate said his client was pleading not guilty to Oct. 6 counts of mischief causing damage to a door at Kings Place and breach of probation; and Oct. 13 counts of break, enter and mischief causing damage at a Carleton Street office building, possession of keys and a book of proverbs from the Carleton Law Group and breach of probation.
